About Monophonics: “One of the best live soul bands I have ever seen!” – Al Bell (Record producer, songwriter, executive, and co-owner of legendary Stax Records) Raised amid the rich musical culture and history of the San Francisco Bay Area, Monophonics proudly carry the torch through the generations into today’s musi-cal landscape. Holding on to tradition, but by no means purists of any kind, they play their own brand of music known as “Psychedelic Soul.” The 2012 release of Monophonics last album In Your Brain saw the band pulling influences from such acts as early Funkadelic, Sly and The Family Stone and the The Temptation's Norman Whitfield produced records. With the new album, Sound of Sinning (April 14, 2015 on Transistor Sound Records), the band has grown in all areas of record making and felt a need to explore other important in-fluences. While the group has come to cherish these inspirations, With Sound of Sinning they started venturing beyond, to the groups that were inspiring those soul acts to embrace the psychedelic sound of the 60's and 70's. Bands such as The Zombies, The Beatles, Beach Boys and Pink Floyd. Even with the experi-mentation of new musical territory, they display the sound that people know and love about Monophonics. Touching on Northern soul, doo-wop, rock and roll, Psych pop, and cinematic music, Monophonics show off their diversity while re-maining true to their roots. Overall it's heartfelt music and old school vibes, with-out losing sight of the present. This is is music steeped in that timeless feeling when people could write and produce songs that you could listen to over and over again. Sound of Sinning was produced by Kelly Finnigan & Ian McDonald and recorded on an old Tascam eight-track 1/4” tape machine at Transistor Sound Studio in Marin County.

About Elektrapod: Elektrapod is the brain child of guitarist Gabe Johnson aka Dr. Pocket (Jive Talkin' Robots, Soulwork, El Dante). Formed with the vision of fusing Funk, Soul, Disco and Riff Rock w/ Groove and Jamband sensibilities, the band aimed from the start to create a band that would truly stand out in their home market of Bend, Oregon and would also be strong enough to hold their own with regional and national acts. There is no doubt that they have accomplished just that in a very short time, truly impressing every single audience they've performed in front of thus far. Tapping uber-talented young chanteuse Ze Rox (Jaccuzi) on vocals, Matt Smith (Biddewah Trunk) on drums, Cameron Harris (Wayward Souls) on bass, Jarrod Donatelli (2nd Hand Soldiers, El Dante) on percussion and Evan Read-Mullins on keyboards, they have assembled a truly colorful collection of players, all of whom have tremendous chops and experience, as well as strong creative presence and drive. Elektrapod's repertoire is being built from the original works of Gabe Johnson and Ze Rox and yet the band has also found group-writing very productive and rewarding, drawing on a lot of magic and synergy in a very short time. After high profile appearances at many, many events, festivals and venues throughout the Oregon, Washington, California and Idaho, Elektrapod is quickly becoming known as one of the hottest live bands to have ever emerged from the Central Oregon area. Come see and hear what all the fuss is about !
